Max Eats Out connects to Gemini as a custom app, over the same MCP endpoint every other client uses — there is no Gemini directory listing to install.

Google is opening custom apps to eligible accounts only, so the setting does not appear for everyone yet. When it does, the server URL below is all it needs. Nothing is installed on your device, and the connection is read-only.

The same catalogue this website renders: every venue, its area and price band, the cuisines and tags, awards, what it is known for, the Best For moments, and the guide’s own note on the ones that have one. A connected assistant can search it, filter it and read a single entry — and nothing else. It cannot see your account, your saved list or anything you have visited.

What it is not

Max Eats Out is an editorial guide, not a comprehensive places database. Coverage follows where the author has actually eaten, so it is uneven by city and by design — a venue’s absence means it is not on the list, not that it does not exist. Ask it for a recommendation, not for every restaurant in a postcode.
